Graduate Students Showcase Final Collections in Annual Fashion Event

With an extensive reputation for creating leaders in the fashion design industry both locally and internationally, CTCFD will be showcasing the graduates of 2016 in a modern fashion event on Saturday, 26 November 2016 at the newly renovated Bancroft Studios in Vredehoek, Cape Town.

Celebrating CTCFD’s students, friends and family will have the opportunity to view the graduates’ full collections as well as work from CTCFD’s Foundation Fashion Design Certificate, and first and second year students in a modern runway fashion show. Students from CTCFD’s sister institution, The Fashion Institute of Garment Technology will also be showcasing select outfits at the event for the first time.

CTCFD will partner with a number of leading brands for 2016’s annual fashion show including Lancôme as the official make-up artistry sponsor, Smudge Academy as the official hair sponsor, ELLE as the official magazine sponsor, and Uber as the official transport sponsor. CTCFD will also continue its long standing partnership with Cape Audio College who will provide the audio on the day.

The annual fashion show event, which starts at 1pm, is open to the public at R 150 per ticket. Tickets are available from CTCFD’s campus (7 Delaney Road, Plumstead) from 24 October 2016.

Most recently, 3 students were named finalists, with 2 going on to be named winners in the Foschini Design Awards 2016, 1 graduate was a finalist in the 2016 AFI Fastrack competition at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Johannesburg, 1 more student were announced as a winner in the G12 Good Hope Radio Design Competition 2016, and 2 students were selected to create fashion films for the Bokeh international film festival in 2017. Furthermore, many alumni are making waves in all areas of the fashion industry, including Anees Petersen showcasing at London Fashion Week, and Ricci JvR presenting a collection at Pheonix Fashion Week in America.
