BP grouped

Originally from New York, Brittany’s love of fashion can be clearly seen throughout her 8 year international career. She has lived and worked in all of the world’s major fashion hubs, and her  work has been seen in most leading fashion publications, including Harper’s Bazaar UK, British Vogue and Grazia UK. Her career has extended well beyond personal and editorial styling, however. In 2013, she was named Head of Marketing & Fashion Director for L’Wren Scott LTD, working alongside the Creative Director of the brand to uphold and maintain the brand identity of the company. She also conceptualized and defined the vision for each collection during her tenure, managing the look & feel of the fashion shows, in-store branding and showrooms as well as working directly with key clients.

Having moved to Cape Town in late 2015, Brittany is now offering two highly informative and exciting short courses that call on her knowledge in all areas of the styling field – exclusively with CTCFD!

The Courses

First, Brittany will be running an introductory course for up and coming stylists looking to take their first steps into the industry. This course, which provides an overview on the role of a stylist, the history of styling as well as different options available in the field offers a hands-on approach culminating in a final practical assessment where students will be called upon to style looks for their first portfolio shots.

Students wanting to partake in this course require no prior experience. The course will be run for 8 weeks from 18.30 – 20.00 on Thursday evenings beginning 18 August 2016, and will be held on the CTCFD campus at 7 Delaney Road, Plumstead at a cost of R 3 800 per student.

The second short course is in the form of a 5 week master class, looking into more detail regarding the different avenues available to the stylist. Those that will be discussed will include Branding (curating look book shoots to a brand’s aesthetic), Photo Shoot Styling (working on advertorials and editorials), and Celebrity Personal Styling (managing a VIP’s wardrobe for public appearances). Students will again complete practical assessments based on the elements covered in class to bolster their portfolios.

Students wanting to partake in this master class require prior experience in the form of a portfolio, or having completed the introductory styling short course. The course will be run for 5 weeks from 10.00 – 14.00 on Saturday mornings beginning in October 2016, and will be held on the CTCFD campus at 7 Delaney Road, Plumstead at a cost of R 4 800 per student.
